Who We Are

Saivite Tamil Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing guidance and on-site workshops on the basic concepts of Saivism, as well as spiritual counseling to the Sri Lankan Tamils of North America.

SPECIFIC GOALS OF THE MISSION

The mission is to educate children, young adults, and the elderly about Saivism and its beliefs through various initiatives, including religious discussions, spiritual guidance, and community support programs.

The goal is to assist those in need by offering comfort, guidance, and spiritual healing during challenging times.

Saivite Practices and Beliefs

Pancha Ganapati

Pancha Ganapati is a modern Hindu festival of the Five-Faced (pancha means “five”) Maha Ganapati – Lord of Categories. This festival falls during the month of December and lasts for five days – from December 21 through 25. Pancha Ganapati is a Hindu expression of the natural season of worship, gift giving and celebration.

Five Basic Practices for Saivites

The five consistent duties are the, “Pancha Nitya karmas” to guide our daily and yearly religious life.
These five obligatory religious practices are simple and applicable for all Saivites.
